Symantec DLO Agent for MAC:
Symantec DLO Desktop Agent for Mac gives you the ability to backup files from your Mac Desktops and Laptops.
Automatic Integrity Checker:
Symantec DLO 7.6 has a self-healing mechanism that automatically verifies the integrity of the deduped data and takes corrective actions, thereby giving you greater reliability and control over your backed up data.
Open File Backup:
DLO now lets you backup files which are saved but left open for editing thereby allowing you to reliably backup your work-in-progress files.
Backup Interruption Tolerance:
Network fluctuations shouldn’t be a concern anymore, Backup Interruption Tolerance feature now ensures resumption of backup jobs from the point of breakage, when network connection is restored.
Multi-level Administrators:
Super-administrator can now Grant/ Deny selected privileges to sub-administrators.
VIP User File Access Restrictions:
Create an ultra-secure group of VIP users whose data cannot be accessed by Administrators.
Lotus Notes 9.x Support:
SDLO 7.6 extends support to Lotus Notes 9.x.
Window 2012 R2 Support:
Symantec DLO 7.6 extends support for Windows 2012 R2 server. DLO 7.6 also supports the installation of single or any combination of the DLO components on the server.
New Reports:
- Storage Statistics Report: Shows the history of storage savings with Deduplication for the specified time range
- Garbage Collection History Report: Provides information about run history and disk space reclaimed by GC.
- Last Successful Backup Time Report: Shows last successful backup time , number of files pending for network and local backup on the DLO Agent.
Alerts and Notification Improvements:
DLO 7.6 now allows Users (along with administrators), to receive notifications.
Simplified Storage location creation wizard:
Simplified Storage location creation wizard which allows automation creation of Dedupe storage locations while creating DLO storage locations.
CPU Priority:
Administrators and users can now control the priority of DLO Agent, so that it does not affect the performance of other applications.

The Desktop and Laptop Option is a network share based protection and synchronization solution for Windows and Mac that enhances current IT desktop and laptop protection policies using an organization's existing IT infrastructure.
The Desktop and Laptop Option provides continuous file based Protection, Scheduled and manual backup of critical user data by automatically copying data from a desktop or a laptop over to a network share. Once on the share, the data are then reliably stored using Symantec DLO. This data then can be restored by Administrator or end user to the same machine or any other target location. DLO administrator can create an administrator with restricted privileges for task delegation. The administrator can also delegate privileges to end user for self-data backup management.
Safeguard desktop and laptop data
The Desktop and Laptop Option provides automated continuous data protection, schedule or manual backup option for users whether they are in the office or on the move. Protection is provided whether the computer is online or offline. When the computer is not connected to the network, files created by the user are backed up to a local folder. Once network connectivity is restored, the files are then backed up from the local folder to the designated network share. As a result, users can work and travel knowing their data is safe. In the event of data loss or system failure, files and folders can be easily restored in minutes. The Automatic Integrity Checker (AIC) ensures reliability and integrity of backed up data.The Desktop and Laptop Option provides secure data transfer with AES 256-bit encryption and Compression for delta and dedupe backups. DLO backs up files even when they are open.
