Cohesity Data Protection Operations Training
The Data Protection Operations training course teaches common Cohesity
DataProtect workflows. Students will be introduced to new data protection
concepts made possible by Cohesity’s platform.
Lab access is included with this course and expires six months after being
assigned. Students will also automatically receive a self-paced M365
Protection eCourse covering workflows for Self-Managed and CCS
(Cohesity Cloud Services) DataProtect as a Service.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this training course, you will be able to:

Describe the architecture and key components of Cohesity DataProtect across
physical servers, virtual machines, applications, and NAS environments. -
Register and configure protection sources using agent-based and API-based
methods for physical, virtual, and NAS systems. -
Create, manage, and optimize Protection Groups and Protection Policies to
meet organizational backup, retention, and compliance requirements. -
Execute backup and recovery workflows for physical servers (Windows and
Linux), hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and RHV), applications, and
NAS sources. -
Monitor and troubleshoot data protection operations using Cohesity
dashboards, alerts, reports, and logs. -
Apply advanced features such as DataLock and extended retention to enhance
data security and operational efficiency. -
Perform file-level, volume-level, and instant recovery tasks for supported
platforms. -
Modify Protection Groups and policies, run on-demand backups using Run Now,
and pause, resume, cancel, or retry protection and recovery jobs. - Troubleshoot failed recoveries and apply daily operator best practices.

Prerequisite Skills
- Prior experience performing backup and recovery tasks.
